about protomed

About Us

Protomed Ltd was established in 2007 by Norman Niven who held a belief that current market offerings in medication management did not reflect the technological capabilities and basic requirements of society today. With the role of the pharmacist changing along with regulations and protocols in the care sector, it was apparent that many products were not evolving in line with market conditions. Protomed Ltd was established as a vehicle to design, develop, and distribute a pipeline of groundbreaking new products, products of their time, beginning with Biodose™ - the world’s first Monitored Dosage System for liquid medicines.

The backbone of the company; our experienced team contains some of the most respected and recognisable figures from the pharmacy and healthcare markets and, working alongside the best manufacturers that the UK has to offer, we are proud to say that all of our products are British built with British quality.
